Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all my clients and friends!

I want to thank you for your business, and more importantly, for your trust in my work and artistic vision to capture your once-in-a-lifetime days and the essence of your most important assets, your children and families.

2006 has been an amazing year for me, where I saw my business growth more than quadruple over the previous year. I booked more than double my goal of weddings this year and watched my portrait business also grow by leaps and bounds. I saw many familiar faces this year with return clients, which brought me a great deal of joy to see children growing and families changing. I also met so many amazing brides and grooms this year (and their families) and new portrait clients. I am excited at the prospect of continuing to work with you in 2007 and beyond.

I havent been able to post as much as I'd like this past month because of how busy I was and the general holiday rush, but I do plan to be writing new updates more frequently moving forward. Look for several new posts soon...

Exciting New Things for 2007!
I know that I am truly blessed to be able to do what I love and to just feel so much passion in general for my work. I am excited for 2007 and the new changes the year will bring as my business contines to evolve. I'm going to launch an all new website in the next couple months, something I am excited to share as I've been working on it lately and cannot wait to unviel the new look. I also have some great trips planned as well as many great weddings booked this year and look forward to sharing some special moments from each of those.

I wish you all a safe, prosperous and healthy new year ahead.

Warm wishes,
Jennifer

Marian and James Wedding

It's been a few weeks since Marian and James's garden wedding at The Arizona Inn in Tucson and I cannot say enough about this wedding or them as people. The setting was breathtaking, and Marian and James shared such a geniune passion and deep respect for each other, that it made the entire day such an incredible joy to photograph. They are obviously the very best of friends, and they really did their own thing for most of the day and our time together for the bride and groom shots, so it made my "job" easy and so much fun.

Watch their beautiful slideshow here!

Also, Marian's father gave one of the most beautiful toasts I have ever heard. There was not a dry eye in the garden including mine. Congratulations Marian and James, and I wish you both a lifetime of passion, laughter and love!

Marian and her Dad sharing a moment.

Tanya Kratz from In Full Bloom in Tucson did an absolutely amazing job on the flowers.

Recent Holiday Photos

I have been very blessed to have such a busy holiday portrait month! Of course, it also means I have been a little behind on getting so many things posted. All of the families have been wonderful -- and some kids really love the camera as you can see below. Here are a handful of my favorites from this season!

The Hobbs Family have the sweetest, most well mannered children in the world, who all happen to be gorgeous as well and the best "posers" I have ever seen. I never have to direct them at all, they just do their own thing for the camera. See below for their close-ups...

And finally, their newest addition, Hudson

This little man Jake was also a natural. Such a HAM for the camera!

Another one of my adorable regular families, cousins Avery, Matthew and Teddy

Aidan was a new addition this year and I just loved his big blue eyes!

Kate is one of my good friends daughters and I love this picture of her. She's only 2, but seems so much older here!

The Savage children were adorable -- and seemed so close as siblings. This is their amazing back yard pool!

Another one of Jake, The Ham.

Who can resist a baby butt!

Anya wasn't digging me taking her picture until the very end when she started to warm up. The promise of ice cream by Mom and Dad did wonders!

Sweet Teddy and those beautiful blue eyes!

I've been photographing beautiful Stella all year, marking each quarter of her first year with a new shoot (Year in the Life Package) and I just love this picture of her. Safe in the arms of Mom and Dad and enjoying her first train ride and the McCormick Railroad Park.

This was from Anya's 2nd birthday and for some reason I just love this shot of her.

More of adorable Aidan

And lets not forgot about the grown ups too! Here are a couple of my recent favs.

My friend Sara's brother and his very adorable girlfiend.

My good friends Kim and Mark who rarely get pictures of just them anymore since they are always chasing after their two little ones.

I have several more shoots this weekend, so I'm sure I'll have some new ones to add next week.

Barbara and Barry

I have to say that Barbara and Barry's wedding on November 4th was one of my personal favorites to date. They are just the most amazing couple, with such a geniune love and fondness for one another. I found the entire day inspiring on many levels. Barb works with a friend of mine who speaks so highly of her, so I was excited when they chose me as their photographer. Barb has two beautiful and charming grown daughters and a great family. In fact, her Mom is the one who hooked her and Barry up! Barry is an attorney here in town and just seemed so calm and collected the whole day. It was an intimate gathering at The Royal Palms Resort & Spa in Phoenix, following their full mass ceremony at The Francisican Renewel Center in Paradise Valley. A truly joyous and beautiful day for everyone involved I believe.

Congratulations Barb and Barry!

A few shots from their wedding and if you want to hear a beautiful and classic Dan Fogelberg song (Barry's favorite), here is the full slideshow.

I love this shot of Barb. She happened to stand directly under a skylight as Barry was signing the wedding certificate, so the lighting was perfect!

Her sister giving her words of love and encouragement (not that she needed encouragement to marry Barry) before the ceremony.

Barb's gorgeous daughters.

Glancing around the corner to sneak a peek of her groom.

The adorable couple

Such a ham!

Sharing a moment during the ceremony.

Kimberly and Robbie

It's already been a few weeks since Kimberly and Robbie married at The Boulder's Resort up in Cave Creek, but it seems like yesterday. Kim is just the cutest and sweetest person and wore a really beautiful tea-length gown by Melissa Sweet. Her bridesmaids all commented on how much the dress reflected her personality and after spending the day with them, I can see why. She and Robbie both live in Nashville and are a truly adorable couple. They have amazing friends and family that came in from all over the US to celebrate their nupituals and had a real easiness about them.

We had a blast photographing the guys trying to hold Robbie up in that "signature" pose typically reserved for the bride. They were hilarious together then, and when they hijacked a golf cart to tee off from the ceremony site! All in all, a super fun day with such a great couple. Congratulations Kim and Robbie!

Here are a few pictures from their day, or you can watch the full slideshow if you would like:

The high noon ceremony

I love capturing all the small details of the day

Kim dancing with her dad. It's not often you get to see the brides shoes while dancing. I had to seize the moment!

This is right before they dropped Robbie! Literally.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Turkey Day! Okay, I am a day late, but I made a promise to myself to actually take the entire day off yesterday and much to my delight, I did! I didn't even touch my computer until about 10:30 PM just to check emails. It was so nice to spend the day with my family, giving thanks for all that we have and work hard for. It was wonderful to enjoy some down time with my husband and daughter and just PLAY :-)

I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving as well and had a chance to reflect on those things you are grateful for this year.

Where in the World is Jen?

I promise I haven't disappeared, I have just been **super** busy these past several weeks with several weddings and portrait shoots. I try and post to my blog as much as possible, but some nights it's hard to post between chasing after my toddler and processing photos for my clients. I have had 6 amazing weddings in the past seven weeks (including a double-hitter wedding weekend this past weekend) and at least that many portrait sessions, so I'm playing catch up and promise to get lots of photos posted soon! Stay tuned...
