Lammot Family Beach Shoot

I mentioned a few posts ago that I had some fun beach shoots while out in CA a couple weeks ago. Here are some of my favorites from my first one with the Lammot family. I have met them a few times before through mutual friends, so we really had a blast. They were completely willing to get all sandy and wet, in fact preferred it that way, so we were able to get some fun images. Tom is a surfer and grew up in southern CA like his wife Stacey, though they all live in AZ now, and so he was anxious to head out in the water with their 3 year old daughter Taylor (the "water baby") and go swimming, which I loved for photos! They are a beautiful family in every way you can imagine.

I absolutely love this picture. To me this sums up the childhood experience at the beach, the magic and fun of playing in the ocean and on the sand. I also dig the way the sun was hitting the beach to silhouette Taylor.

Beach Time

Well, I've made some progress on my 101 list recently. One of the things I have crossed off was taking photographs of my Mom and daughter and then giving them to my Mom. My family lives near Destin, Florida, so Jordan and I had a short visit earlier this month and we spent a late afternoon out at the beach taking photos. I really wanted my niece to be in these as well so I could give my Mom pictures of the three of them, but she was very sick that day so just Jordan, Grandma and I went. But all is well because maybe Jordan was less distracted anyway and I know Grandma treasures them all the same...

Seren and Samuel

I had a really fun session with a wonderful family last week. Little Seren and Samuel were so adorable and fun to work with. Mom Lucie and dad Sean were both so easy going and nice, and really allowed Samuel to do his own thing, which made for some great natural shots of him playing and being two. When I first saw beautiful Seren, who is just three months old, I could not get over how much she resembles Suri Cruise -- famous daughter of Tom and Katie of course.

Both Seren and Sam have such beautiful blue eyes, so I really tried to capture them. Thank you Cristler family for such a fun day! Here are some of my favorite images... or the full slideshow.

Recent Holiday Photos

I have been very blessed to have such a busy holiday portrait month! Of course, it also means I have been a little behind on getting so many things posted. All of the families have been wonderful -- and some kids really love the camera as you can see below. Here are a handful of my favorites from this season!




The Hobbs Family have the sweetest, most well mannered children in the world, who all happen to be gorgeous as well and the best "posers" I have ever seen. I never have to direct them at all, they just do their own thing for the camera. See below for their close-ups...

Kate is one of my good friends daughters and I love this picture of her. She's only 2, but seems so much older here!

I've been photographing beautiful Stella all year, marking each quarter of her first year with a new shoot (Year in the Life Package) and I just love this picture of her. Safe in the arms of Mom and Dad and enjoying her first train ride and the McCormick Railroad Park.
